2025 Matryx Running Board Supports Install Instructions
Step 1: Remove factory running board supports
-
Unbolt the two nuts holding the rear of the factory running board support.
-
Drill the rivet that holds the stud plate on. This rivet is located on top of the tunnel.
-
Remove the Torx head bolt securing the drop brackets to the running board support.
-
Drill out the rivet from the inside of the tunnel, below the two studs.
-
Drill out the rivet that connects the running board support to the running board.
-
Heat the running board using a small torch (map gas or propane works well) to soften the glue holding the running board support in place. Be careful not to burn the paint.
-
Pull the running board support out carefully. If the running board support is damaged and you’re not concerned about saving it, you can apply more force, but it may complicate the removal process.
Step 2: Clean up
-
After removing the factory running board supports, clean any burrs or leftover glue from the running board to prepare for the new billet running board supports.
Step 3: Install billet running board supports
-
Install Part 1 (the long part) of the billet running board support into the running board.
-
Install the stud plate and secure it with the two nuts. Leave them loose at this point.
-
Apply blue Loctite to all bolts to ensure they stay secure.
-
Install Part 2 of the billet running board support using the supplied bolt. Leave this loose as well.
-
Re-install the Torx bolt from inside the tunnel through the drop bracket and tighten it.
-
Tighten the supplied bolt connecting the two billet parts together.
-
Tighten the two nuts securing the stud plate.
-
Rivet the stud plate back to the tunnel.
-
Using a 3/16" drill bit, drill through the running board support from the factory hole in the running board.
-
Add a rivet to the side of the running board where Polaris injects the glue.
-
Pop both rivets to finish the installation
Step 4: Repeat on the other side
-
Follow the same process for the other side of the vehicle.
